Vision
A flower you can check like the weather.
Pick any place on earth and the flower moves with the wind blowing there right now: its measured speed, its gusts and its direction. Beside it, a quiet panel keeps that place’s time and sky. Every flower grows from a seed, so no two are alike.
Creative Direction
Soft, close and never quite in focus.
Pastel backdrops, a lens with a shallow depth of field, a little glow and grain. Memory lets each frame linger and drift, so the petals leave soft trails as they move. The data panel has no box, only type, IBM Plex Sans for words and Plex Mono for figures, and it drags anywhere and scales up to four times its size, big enough for a wall.
Execution
Grown in code, moved by real wind.
Built in three.js, with no model files. Every petal is shaped in a shader, its length, width, curl, cup and ruffle opening from bud to bloom, and a species and a seed set the rest. The wind is physical: Open-Meteo’s live speed, gusts and direction push on the flower head, and a stem with real stiffness bends and springs back, so a still morning and a gale look nothing alike. Then I built two rooms in Unreal Engine, a gallery with a 4 x 4 video wall and a desk with a single monitor, to see it at the scale of a wall and of a desk.
Outcome
A living flower for any screen, and two rooms for it.
HAS Flora runs in the browser: 11 species and 99,999 seeds, any city you type, its live wind and weather, a bloom that opens and closes on its own cycle, and a PNG of any moment. Settings save to a file to load again. The gallery and the desk are Unreal Engine scenes made to show it.
